School is ok, needs better behavioral standards. Cleaning up, and needs to kick some kids out.

I have sat down with teachers and faulty and they have great ideas but the follow through is just not there, communication is something that is needed more of....

This school is okay. I mean the teachers are nice the students can be mean, but I just think the school is going down the drain. Not because of the admins or principal or any staff. It's just the students! The students can be so mean, I think a suicide is going to happen one of these days. So hear me out. I think this school is okay, just get the students to BEHAVE.

I don't like the school principal, and it is clear that she has disdain for me because I made her do her job after my kid was bullied at the school and she just wanted to sweep it under the rug. I don't know how she keeps her job, because she clearly does not like white people. My daughter will not go there next year. I hope they fire her and Mr. Tucker

I also noted the blatened disrespect of the students when the teacher tried to repremand the class. I felt I owed my child an apology for being too tuff on them after my visit to the school. My child was in fear of gang beatings and did not want to be placed in a position of such with their peers. Leaving the facility, I was approached with many children calling me a B***h and telling me to Go F**k myself . Teachers observed this and replied I know, we deal with it everyday and that was as far as any dicipline went. I asked to have a day with my student to follow them to classes, I was told not to return to the school campus by a guideance counselor who informled me the school principal had given this order. I am so proud of Oak Park Middle school!!! * Sarcasim* When I contacted the Lake County School Board nothing seemed to get resolved

I have had very bad experiences with this school, it is not the teachers, it is the administrators. The guidance counselor reaks of stale cigarettes and alcohol, and the principal in my opinion hates white people. Rather than helping the students, it seems they would prefer to take the easy way and discipline rather than take the time to find the source of the problem.

They have always had the kids in mind, to protect, & make them behave, with programs for the benefits of the kids, & they have many people that are passionate to help the kids, both in administation & teachers! Two of my children have gone there also, so that's why I'm writing also, to help them perhaps help them.

My son attends this school, and he loves it! I could not ask for a better Middle School for him to attend. He has wounderfull teachers, and has made almost all A's this year, and this is coming from a child who struggled at Leesburg, Elm. So I give this school more then a five star. Keep up the great work, to all the Staff, and Teachers.

Their idea of a p/t conference is to sit you down with seven teachers and tell you how bad your child is doing with no real suggestions or recommendations for improvement. Not helpful. Also, the administration is horribly inept at helping in any real way.

I would give this school a much lower rating than the students, former students, and staff member who rated it. Major improvement is needed in the communication between staff and parents regarding educational concerns and/or status of the student. The school event calendar on the website needs to be updated on a regular basis. The staff has been friendly when appraoched, but the follow through has been sketchy at best. If the family is to support the classroom learning, the teachers need to include them by sending homework, writing notes or emails, and making phone calls. Excluding parents hinders learning. OPM's FCAT scores are a result. Also, there is a serious problem with bullying. Actions speak louder than words on all these issues.

This school is the best! I am going to 7th grade. They have great teachers and mrs. Haugabrook is a great administrator. I always have fun here. I think that the most fun people are mr. Caudill, mrs. Stratton, mrs. Johnson, and mrs. Langford. They are great! I love this school! opms for life! go silver knights -ashley/

Okay, I am a student at this school.I am in 7th grade. I say we have a pretty good school and some great teachers. Especially our band director, Mrs. Marla Langford. She is awesome! Mrs. Langford is awesome because she teaches band, helps you with your problems, and is a like a mother. Ms. Leighton, our band intern is cool too. Music is a very good thing to get involved in. Mrs. Langford once said music teaches you about all of the subjects of school. Math, language arts, history, etc. You get smarter. You have measures to count, you learn more advanced musical terms, you learn the history of famous composers and you instruments. Not only is it educational, it's fun! And you get to go on fun trips and get out of school! We have great and funny teachers who help you learn. Our school is the best!

I have never seen a higher level of teacher dedication than in this school. The administration and guidance department is so responsive to needs, and proactive in its approach. This is ONE GREAT SCHOOL!
